The Dearborn burger was so good! I absolutely fell in love with it. The burger also came with a generous amount of fries for an affordable price. Everyone is so friendly and considerate. They really check to make sure you're enjoying yourself and if everything is okay. By far my favorite restaurant in Chicago

While I was at a professional conference in Chicago, I had dinner at The Dearborn with a colleague. Both of us had the FISH & CHIPS *AS SEEN ON BEAT BOBBY FLAY* (which was *outstanding* and which I would highly recommend). We shared a Caesar salad. The service was superb, and I especially appreciated the professionalism of the staff at The Dearborn after having lunch at another Chicago restaurant a couple days later where the host was shockingly unprofessional. (My only suggestions: I thought the Caesar salad and the cole slaw were more on the sweet side than I care for. But I see other people who have reviewed these food items really like them.)

Had a great time here. Food was top notch.
Service was amazing and very attentive.
The only thing that was slightly boring was the desserts. Can't wait to revisit when I am in Chicago again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roman N.Menlo Park, CA1187239Apr 15, 20241 check-in
Had a phenomenal dinner at the Dearborn last night! The food was picturesque and delicious, the service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was chic.
My brother, dad, and I were in the area, seeing as we had just checked out the Sear's (now Willis) tower observation deck. I remember seeing the Dearborn recommended earlier on during our trip, and the food looked great, so we walked on over.
We were quickly seated at a table next to these giant floor-to-ceiling windows, giving us a nice view of outside. We over-indulged, ordering the Midwest fried chicken, meze plate, a Dearborn burger each, and house-made chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream. We had stomach aches long into the night, but it was worth it!
The fried chicken had this sweet mustard maple glaze, was lightly fried, and juicy. The meze plate's tatziki was zesty and refreshing, the tahini added a nice subtle spice, but the standout was the creamy hummus: it had a very subtle nutty flavor, which I prefer to a strong one. My only nitpick was that one piece of pita wasn't enough to eat all the dips. They were still delicious, tho.
The Dearborn burger came with two juicy patties along with a generous portion of thin and crispy fries. The burger was very filling, but once the cheese was gone, the meat was the primary flavor. I feel like the burger would really benefit from some tomatoes or onions to break up the flavor profile a little bit, but other than that, it was a great burger.
Then came dessert. Now, we were already full, so dessert wasn't the smartest choice, but it was the right one. The house-made chocolate cookies were soft, warm and filled with melty chocolate chips. The ice cream was surprisingly creamy and firm. Perfect way to cap off the final night of a trip, or any night for that matter.
Going back to the atmosphere, the staff made us feel very welcome. Our server periodically checked in on us, cracked some jokes, and made us feel like we were right at home. One of the bus boys even complemented my hat, which I appreciated.
All in all, dinner at Dearborn was a fun and enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a slightly elevated dining experience in downtown Chicago, come on over!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 13, 2024
This is a solid dinner choice. Interesting widely-varied menu. Our server was attentive- maybe slightly too much so, but better over service than under service.
The food was all tasty- we ordered WAY too much. Starter of the prosciutto & fried egg thin crust pizza was really flavorful with a balsamic glaze. The entrees included the fairly standard for burger fare- The Dearborn Burger with fries. The Midwest Chicken was a smidge salty- but it's a good size entree even though it is listed under "starters." The crispy Brussels sprouts were tasty- tender yet crispy enough.
The vibe is relaxed- it has a pub feel and the menu also feels pub-ish. Great selection of beers and wine- plenty of tasty choices to go with your meal.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 18, 20241 check-in
The Dearborn was one of the places I picked for us to have lunch while on our staycation. So glad I did because this was a wonderful lunch with wonderful service.
We were promptly seated by our hostess and not long afterwards, our server came over to great us. She was very sweet and so pleasant, and just warm in personality. We had a reservation, which I am glad we did as the place filled up pretty quick after we got seated.
Because we had a later dinner planned, we started with the Ceviche: cod, salmon, shrimp, fennel, orange, tomato, cilantro, coriander-lime dressing, crispy tortilla and the Parker House Rolls....most excellent starters. Those rolls with that duck fat butter was yum yum yum. The ceviche was nice and fresh, with that citrus twang I love. To wash it down, we opted for the 1818 Billecart-Salmon Mareuil-Sur-ay. Sometimes you want a true champagne instead of bubbles during day drinking.
For our entrees, I got the Fish & Chips (as seen on Beat Bobby Flay): tempura-battered Icelandic cod, rainbow slaw, remoulade, charred lemon, fries, malt vinegar. I will not lie, I am not a fan of Bobby Flay or fish per se, but seeing this was a dish that beat him, I wanted to try it. I will have to say that I can see why it won. The tempura batter was perfect as it didn't mask the flavor of the fish or make it a heavy dish. The piece of fish was a nice side and was so flaky. The malted vinegar is a must for me on the occasion I do fish & chips and The Dearborn did not disappoint. The cole slaw was interesting, but good. It was more tangy than sweet and complemented the fish. Normally I don't care for this style of cole slaw, but this was fresh and tasty.
The Doctor got the Spicy Chicken & Mushroom Soup: spicy chicken broth, sesame, napa cabbage, four star mushroom medley, pulled chicken, nueske's bacon, scallio. He said it did have some heat. Because we ordered the rolls with the ceviche, we did not eat the tortilla chips that came with it. Good thing we didn't because the The Doctor ended up putting them in his soup. He really enjoyed the soups and the chips, cleaning his bowl.
We didn't do dessert, but that can be explored another time as I am sure we will be back here to try other items on the menu. A good time was had by all.Helpful 39Thanks 7Love this 28Oh no 1 - Feb 19, 2024
Had a reservation for Valentine's day and it was a really welcoming environment. It's really nice inside I do appreciate the low lighting but it's where you can still see unlike at Cheesecake where it's really dark.
Drinks: Guinness 10/10, POMEGRANATE-ANISE SPRITZ 10/10
Food: 8oz Filet Mignon 7/10, the filet itself could use some work. There wasn't much of a outstanding flavor and if I'm paying for that cut I'd prefer a bit more flavor. The mash was just okay.
Fish and Chips 10/10 they were definitely winning I could see why. Fish was falling apart when cutting into it, so good. The tartar sauce was good with it and the lemon. Fries were super crispy and the coleslaw was good as well.
Overall really nice restaurantHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 7, 2024

A very nice casual fine dining restaurant.
I got the Fish and Chips that came with a side of fries and coleslaw. Off the bat, I was pleasantly surprised with the serving size was very large for the price with two very large fried fish pieces. The cod was crisp to the taste but wasn't too oily and tasted fresh without being fishy. The Cole slaw was the best thing on the plate. It was so crunchy and fresh without being artificially sweet from the mayo. There were red onions, peppers, and cabbage that added a great taste.
Service was really fast and polite, they were really knowledgeable about the specials. Overall it was a really nice dining experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 133244899Feb 19, 20241 check-in
We stopped in here on a whim due to the good reviews.
The staff was very friendly. They even did something for the anniversary. Our waiter made a good recommendation for a drink as well.
I got the beef Wellington burger and knew before ordering that it would have to come out medium rare. However, this thing came out so raw, it was actually cold. Had it actually been medium rare I think it would have been fine, but it was so raw it grossed me out. It did come with a very tasty Dijon mustard.
The vibe is nice. If you're lucky enough to be seated by a window you can watch people walk by. The food was decent and the drinks were too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
